London Thames Fencing Club is one of the most successful fencing clubs in the UK, with some of the country’s top fencers producing an unrivalled catalogue of international and domestic success the club has developed a reputation in Epee and Sabre which is second to none.

All ages from 16 to 80 are welcome to join the club or just come along and train with us on regular or irregular basis as the club continues to enjoy success through it’s Junior, Senior and Veteran members.

London Thames Fencing Club is located at Roehampton University, where we cater for all levels of ability and continue to welcome the purely recreational fencer, the elite competitor and everyone in-between.

If you’re interested, but a bit nervous about taking the plunge, you are welcome to join one of our very popular beginner’s courses. These are an excellent way to get started in the exciting world of fencing.

Come along on a Monday, Wednesday or Thursday and say hello, we’ll give you a warm welcome.

Each night includes a warm up session, footwork, free fencing and individual lessons (by arrangement) with one of our club coaches. Free fencing runs as a queueing system with each fencer staying on the piste for 2 fights as a fencer leaves a piste the next fencer in the waiting que takes their place, each fight is to 15 (reduced to 5 or 10 on busy nights). This has proven to ensure all fencers get plenty of fencing each evening and that everyone gets to fence different levels of ability. From time to time (especially in the run up to major international events) the committee may agree changes to the standard club night format and will endeavour to inform club members in advance of any such changes.
